Finally; A Newsletter -They do say better late than never.
To all the wonderful people who attended The Strange Death of Mr Buchanan, may I thank you for signing up to my email list! As promised, I have not spammed you. In fact, I have done something far worse, I have gone completely silent - probably not the best start to publicise my book :) many apologies!! The reason for the delay is that it takes a lot longer to publish a book than I anticipated. However, the time has finally come when I can say At the Hem of the Empire - published under the pen name Tilley Baxter - has finally been released.
Set in the early days of the colonial settlement of South Australia, and immediately following the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi in New Zealand, At the Hem of the Empire is an exploration of the role of women in the colonial era, and of family dynamics leaning solidly on actual events.
Reinventing the lost voice of Ann Smith, wife of the colonial settler who gave his name to Smithfield, SA, the novel explores how one woman’s ambitions and achievements were obscured behind those of her husband, and how she managed to achieve ambitions of her own.
I am in the process of planning a launch party, and will be sending out invitations presently. So save the date for Oct 8! For an early invitation, add your name to the email list.

If you prefer a hard (signed) copy, I will be offering the book pre-launch at the South Australian Author Showcase at the Salisbury Hub on Sept 12, so come and see me. I am listed under my pen name as Tilley Baxter. The event is free, and there is no need to book.
